GIVING TUESDAY

On this global day of giving, we’re hoping for the goal of 1,000 people to join us so we can continue to help women access training and support their success in skilled trades careers!

Monthly donations, of any size, provide nonprofits like Oregon Tradeswomen with a sustainable income,  which helps us deliver training, job placement, and support services to hundreds of women every year.

If you are in a position to be able to give, we ask you to consider joining today as a monthly sustaining donor.

“Believing in Oregon Tradeswomen’s mission and seeing firsthand the way it impacts women’s lives, motivated me to become a monthly sustaining donor. It was more accessible for me to spread my contribution throughout the year and I know it’s a reliable funding source for OTW throughout the entire year.”

Hilary Pickerel
Board member, Oregon Tradeswomen
Workforce Development Manager

“As a board member, I clearly understand how important monthly donations are to the stability of nonprofit organizations in our community. During this time of instability and international crisis, Oregon Tradeswomen is the only monthly donation I’m keeping constant.

For me, my monthly gift provides hope. It’s important to me to hold up the working class – the backbone of our society. I’m committed to providing hope for the working class, and hope for the lives of those who seek Oregon Trades women’s programs and supports to build skills for a lifelong career.”

Your gift, of $10/month or more, will help put people to work, taking care of their families and their community. We’ll get through this together and if you’re in a position to be able to help at this time, we’re very grateful.

NEW TAX BENEFITS FOR CHARITABLE DONATIONS

Now, more than ever before, Oregon Tradeswomen needs your support. If you are in a position to make a donation, we want to be sure you know about tax deduction changes congress recently made though the CARES Act for charitable giving:

In 2020, taxpayers who typically take the standard deduction on their tax returns can claim a brand new “above-the-line” deduction of up to $300 for monetary donations to an eligible nonprofit, including Oregon Tradeswomen. Normally, you have to itemize your taxes to get a tax break for charitable donations, this is the opposite. This deduction is not available to individuals who itemize.

  1. If you itemize your taxes, you can now deduct up to 100% of your adjusted gross income (AGI) for charitable donations made in 2020. Generally, deductions for charitable donations are limited to 60%.

  2. If you donate through your business, your corporation can deduct up to 25% of its taxable income for charitable donations made during 2020. This is an increase from the usual corporate donation limit of 10% of taxable income for the year.
