EMPLOYER SERVICES

Oregon Tradeswomen offers placement assistance to employers looking to save time and money. Graduates of Oregon Tradeswomen’s Trades and Apprenticeship Career Class, a state-certified pre-apprenticeship program, are taught by journey-level tradeswomen. Oregon Tradeswomen graduates are rigorously field tested and well qualified for entry level trades work. Our career counselors are familiar with each graduate’s strengths and areas of interest and can offer employers personalized placement assistance to help develop and diversify their workforce.

Classroom Training includes:

  • Trades math and measurement
  • Construction and job-site safety
  • Tool identification and blueprint reading
  • Construction culture and job-site etiquette
  • Green building concepts
  • Job-site communication skills

Field Training Includes:

  • Hands-on building experience on job-sites
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Working at industry work-pace
  • General job site safety and proper ladder use
  • Basic carpentry experience
  • OSHA 10-hour certification
  • 25 hours of fitness/strength/endurance training
